Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance's video generation model from its Seed team, officially launched on February 12, 2026. It generates video and sound together from text, images, video clips and audio — up to 9 images, 3 clips and 3 audio files at once — and makes multi-shot clips up to 15 seconds with two-channel audio.
Seedance AI runs all three versions in the cloud — 2.0, the faster 2.0 Fast and the newer 2.5: write a prompt, add a first or last frame, or give it reference images, clips and audio, then download the MP4. No subscription — you pay per second and see the price first.

It's ByteDance's video generation model, made by its Seed team and launched on February 12, 2026. It turns text, images, clips and audio into multi-shot videos up to 15 seconds with stereo sound. Seedance AI runs it in the browser, along with the faster 2.0 Fast and the longer Seedance 2.5.
No. Seedance AI is an independent site that runs Seedance through a commercial API. Seedance is owned by ByteDance; its official page is seed.bytedance.com, and ByteDance's own apps that offer it include Dreamina (CapCut).
You can try it free. A new account gets 50 credits — one 5-second Seedance 2.0 video at 480P. After that, check in every day for one free Seedance 2.0 Fast 480P video up to 5 seconds, and a streak adds bonus credits (10 on day 3, 30 on day 7). There's no unlimited free plan: beyond that, videos use one-time credit packs (300 credits for $9.99). Failed renders cost nothing.
You pay per second: from 10 credits a second (Seedance 2.0, 480P) up to 75 a second (Seedance 2.5, 1080P). The form shows the exact total before you generate, and credits don't expire.
All three take text, frames and references and make sound. 2.0 Fast is the cheapest and quickest, at 480P or 720P. 2.0 is the flagship, up to 1080P and 15 seconds. Seedance 2.5 is newer and makes one clip up to 30 seconds, up to 1080P.

No. ByteDance hasn't released its weights or code, so there's no local version either — downloads claiming to be one aren't from ByteDance. It's available through ByteDance's own apps and APIs, and through services like Seedance AI that run it in the cloud.
ByteDance sells API access through BytePlus ModelArk, and several API platforms resell it. Seedance AI doesn't offer an API: it's a ready-to-use site where you pay per second with credits.
Your credits go back to your balance automatically. Requests the content check rejects are not charged either.
